EPW - Barraud & Lunds, 41 Cornhill, London, keyless free-sprung lever fusee, 50mm, heavy 18K gold OF original case bearing London hallmarks for 1871, "H C D" marking in oval cameo for casemaker Henry Charles Dewar, initials to rear, gold cuvette, white enamel SS dial, SW-button-set with retained KWKS arbors, fully capped lever escapement with inverted double roller, free-sprung balance with diamond endstone, gilt mvt, s#2/9790 with matching serial number to dial and within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 75.2 dwt (116.9 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, excellent gilt tone, some ultra-fine scratch striations to main plate, small surface marks or nicks to perimeter of fourth wheel bridge; flawless dial; nearly mint hands; case shows light wear, dent to band at 7, dings to band at 2, mild dent to bezel at 9, dings to lower perimeter of rear, mild ding to upper left perimeter of rear, mild shallow dent at upper left perimeter of rear initials with corresponding mild shallow dent to cuvette, rear initials with some loss of fine engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows light wear; thick glass crystal with short scratch a bit above center, profuse micro-fine scratches causing hazy overall appearance.
